	LAST CHANCE - Fall Baseball Registration

Each September Westwood Little League, in conjunction with a few other area towns, offers a Fall Baseball program.

Players who will be 11 or 12 by April 30, 2011 are eligible for the 11/12 team(s) and those who will be 9 or 10 by that date are eligible for the 9/10 team(s).

We are also looking for coaches for these teams as well.

Players interested should be registered through the "register online" button to the left of the home page.

We are in the final week of the season for Westwood...

Westwood's Williamsport tournament team has had a magical past 4 weeks of competition. Winning the District 11 title was a major milestone as it is considered one of the (if not the) toughest district in the state.

After surviving that grind of District 11 competition, Westwood rolled through the Section III round robin, taking a 3-0 record into the championship game against Newton West.

To get to this point each team needs two things: a lot of a talent and a little bit of luck.

We were certainly the beneficiaries of some good fortune to get to the Section III Championship game. Unfortunately, we were on the other end of luck versus West Newton losing a heartbreaker by a final score of 5-4.

The boys and the coaches were blown away by the wave of support we received. Westwood fans appeared to outnumber Newton West by a 2:1 margin.

So to the entire Westwood Little League family and the entire town of Westwood - we'd like to say THANK YOU!

Finally, to the 13 boys who competed so well and represented themselves and the program with unrivaled class we'd like to say Congratulations, Thank You, and Good Luck in all your future endeavors.

Continue to always "DREAM BIG DREAMS!"

	Cold Stone "Shots of the Week"

We are in the final week of the season for Westwood Little League and the playoff races are heating up.

Saturday we had to postpone the Player Selection All-Star Game, but the 3rd Annual Cold Stone Creamery HR Derby was held at Morrison field.

Coach Reissfelder and his rubber arm, pitched to approximately 34 of the 37 eligible players in the first round. Fourteen of whom advanced to the 2nd round by hitting a dinger in round 1. Eventually, a champion was crowned.

Last year's champion (Kevin Murray) was on hand to hand the trophy and title to the 2010 Cold Stone "Shot of the Game" Home Run Derby Champion to Brendan Gotti.
