Each year, we receive a few questions as to what distinguishes the different divisions within WLL. Following is a brief explanation of each:
Major Leagues:
Majors will consist of 12 & 11 year olds with evaluations and selections for 10 year olds who wish to try out. 10 year-olds that do not get selected for the Majors will be placed in the Minors. Games typically begin in late April and run through mid-June. All games are played at Morrison Field and are held Monday - Friday 5:30pm and 7:00pm start times and on weekends.

Minor League:
Minors will consist of 11 & 10 year olds with evaluations and selections for 9 year olds who wish to try out. 9 year-olds that do not get selected for Minors will be placed in the International Division. Games typically begin in late April and run through mid-June. Most games are played at Sheehan School fields and are held Monday - Friday 5:45pm start times and on weekends. Some games played at Morrison Park will have a different start time.

International League:
The International Division will consist of 8 & 9 year olds. The emphasis at this level is on player development and sportsmanship. The focus is on skills while developing pitchers and catchers. Games typically begin in late April and run through mid-June. Games are held Monday - Friday 5:45pm start times and occasionally on weekends. Find the International Division Coordinator on the Board of Directors page. Games are held at the Martha Jones and Downey Fields.

Rookie Division:
The Rookie Division is our 1st grade division. Coaches pitch to batters and each team bats continuously through the lineup. All players are positioned and play on defense. The kids play games, but 100% of the focus is on player development. Games typically begin in late April and run through mid-June. All games are held Monday - Friday at 5:45pm and some games on weekends. Games are held at the Hanlon School Field.

K-Ball Division:
The introduction to Little League baseball in Westwood. This division is comprised exclusively of children currently enrolled in kindergarten. We strictly enforce this policy regardless of how talented a pre-K player may be. The player MUST be in kindergarten. Composed of both boys and girls, the entire focus is development. Teams rotate through skills stations followed by a relay race around the bases for weeks 1-3. Games start in week 4 and typically last 2-3 inning players bat one through the order and switch sides. Baseball begins in late-April and run through early to mid June. All games take place on the School Street fields and are held Monday - Friday 5:30p with some games on the weekend.
