Westwood U15 Team Competes for Summer Glory

On a glorious summer evening in early August Coach Roper, Coach Shea and Coach Rooney's U15 team competed against Braintree in the MSBL playoffs hoping to advance to the championship. The Green Machine started off tremendously quick with 5 runs in the the first and the very exciting and entertaining game went back and forth right down to the final inning, with the lead changing several times. It was inevitable that the team with the most offense would prevail. Unfortunately for Westwood, Braintree took the lead in the 6th and they could not push across the runs to continue the game into extra innings. Afterwards Coach Roper praised the group for their hard work and dedication to their team. Coach Cap also added huge thanks to all the players and their families for enduring a lengthy season in the summer heat. Hat's off to these boys of summer, most who have played their final Babe Ruth game for Westwood. Pictured (l to r) are Coach Cap, Coach Rooney, Coach Shea, Zach Conway, Michael Shea, Tommy Stapleton, Dom Mariani, Colin Roper, Ben Borges, Vijay Sherring, Sam Shaevitz, Cole Kaiser, Kyle Rooney, Kyle McDonald and Coach Roper.

Thanks to the 3 coaches who have given selflessly to our program for the last several years. This wraps the successful summer activity - next stop Fall Ball.
